Two weeks since the first edition, and Oak Cliff hasn’t slowed down. A World Cup party is coming to Jefferson. Wynnewood is filling in. A few things happened that we need to talk about. Let’s get into it.
๐ Copa de Cliff Fest โ This Wednesday
If you’re anywhere near Oak Cliff on Wednesday, June 24, this is where you’ll want to be. Jefferson Boulevard and Bishop Arts are teaming up for Copa de Cliff Fest โ 6 to 10 PM, right in the heart of the neighborhood.
Over 50 businesses are participating. There’ll be Dallas Lowriders and Volks Family car clubs on display, live music, dancing, and a screening of the Mexico vs. Czechia World Cup match at the Texas Theatre. Visit Dallas is even in on it. This is the kind of event that reminds you Oak Cliff knows how to throw a party better than anyone else in this city.

๐๏ธ Wynnewood Village Is Getting Good
The Target that opened in March was just the beginning. By late summer, Wynnewood Village will have:
- Burlington โ 26,000+ square feet
- James Avery Jewelry โ a Texas classic
- Bath & Body Works
- Plus a rebuilt Taco Bell and a new Smoothie King going in
Wynnewood has been talked about for years. It’s actually happening now. The north side of the center is where most of the new construction is focused โ expect to see it take shape over the next few months.
๐ฃ East Dock Is Open
The old 1915 building on the east side has been redeveloped into East Dock, and a few spots are already open:
- Bite โ sushi that’s priced for regular people, not $40 lunch crowds
- Lola’s Cantina and Snacks โ quick bites, beer, wine, cocktails
Still coming soon: The Lucky Claw (arcade), Oak Cliff Revival (vintage furniture), and Rough Draft (creative makerspace). East Dock is shaping up to be one of those places you can spend an afternoon bouncing between spots.
๐ฅฌ Fresh Food Market Coming to Fordham Road
East Oak Cliff has been a food desert for too long. A new fresh food market is finally in the works for the Fordham Road neighborhood โ financed by the city, with on-site hydroponic systems. Construction should start soon, with completion in about two years.
It’s not fast, but it’s real. And it’s the kind of investment Oak Cliff has been asking for.
๐จ Bishop Arts Crash โ What We Know
On Thursday, June 18, a vehicle drove into a crowd in Bishop Arts. Four people were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The driver was arrested. Our thoughts are with everyone affected โ Bishop Arts is family, and this hits close to home.
If you or someone you know was impacted and needs support, check in with the businesses on the block. The Oak Cliff community takes care of its own.
