About Wynnewood Village
Wynnewood Village — opened in 1948 — was one of the first planned shopping centers in Texas. Unlike the strip malls that followed, it was designed as a true neighborhood hub: a grocery store, pharmacy, theater, and specialty shops all clustered around a central plaza within walking distance of the surrounding homes.
Today Wynnewood Village continues to anchor the Wynnewood North and Elmwood communities — a mix of longtime residents and newcomers who share a belief in this stretch of south Oak Cliff’s potential. The surrounding streets have some of the most affordable mid-century ranch homes in Dallas proper.
